Welcome to Thornhill House
Thornhill House is a nursing and residential home of the highest standards for the elderly of the village of Great Longstone and the surrounding area. Priority is given to residents from this area which comprises the Parish of Longstone (Hassop, Rowland, Great Longstone, Little Longstone, and Wardlow) and the civil parishes of Ashford-in-the-Water, Sheldon, and Brushfield.
It is an attractive purpose built home set in it’s own gardens with 19 single rooms, all with ensuite facilities.

Open Day – Thornhill House at The Grange
As many of you will know, the much-loved Thornhill House is planning a move to The Grange in 2028. As we get underway with the project, we are hosting a drop-in Open Day for the local community on Saturday 3rd October from 2-4pm.
This will be an opportunity to visit The Grange, Station Road, Great Longstone DE45 1TS and view the plans for Thornhill House at The Grange. You’ll be able to ask questions about the move, hear about the impact on the local community and learn how to get involved.
All are welcome. Parking is available though is limited, so please do share cars or arrive on foot as necessary. For any queries, please contact Amy Stevens on fundraising@thornhillhouse.org.uk.
An evening of Lowry’s Lamps
Join us for an evening with local author Richard Mayson to enjoy a presentation on the life and works of L.S. Lowry.
The evening, hosted by Ashford Church, also presents an opportunity to hear more about the future for Thornhill House in Great Longstone, as we plan to relocate to The Grange.
Proceeds towards relocation to The Grange.
